Which FOB upgrade should come first?
We suggest starting with the upgrade that addresses the problem interrupting your runs. If storage is always full, investigate capacity. If a missing item is blocking the next objective, check what you need to craft it.
Choose your target from the table, then use the steps below to track its missing materials in the game.
| Recurring problem | What to investigate | How to judge the choice |
|---|---|---|
| Constantly discarding useful materials | Item-storage capacity | Will it free space for the recipe you are pursuing? |
| No room for weapons you intend to reuse | Weapon-storage capacity | Are those weapons part of a realistic next-run plan? |
| Missing a basic item for an objective | Its recipe and required resources | Does crafting it solve the immediate block? |
| Collecting materials without progress | Recipe tracking and an exact shopping list | Can the next run complete one defined step? |
How to track the materials you need
Open the target upgrade in the 3D Printer and check its cash and material requirements. Compare those requirements with your Stash, then track the recipe or ingredients.
Tracked ingredients receive a pin when you encounter them while looting. After returning, check the remaining quantities again so your next run has a clear shopping list.
- Choose one target upgrade.
- Check access, cash, and recipe requirements.
- Count what is already stored.
- Track missing ingredients.
- Recheck the recipe after returning.
If the recipe is missing, check access
Station access, recipe unlocks, and owning the required materials are separate conditions. Check your current progression screen and upgrade panel to see which one is missing. DMZ has its own level and reward track.
Use Gunsmith for weapon goals
The 3D Printer handles equipment crafting; Gunsmith handles weapon purchases and customization. Extracting one usable gun is different from unlocking repeated purchases. Unlocking those purchases requires finding and extracting its Weapon Manual.
Keep that weapon goal separate from your FOB material list. It lets you distinguish the step that unlocks the weapon from an unrelated crafting recipe.
